I am amazed at how wonderful and kind my older children are with their little brother Kye, I am especially amazed at the wonderful bond he has with Our eldest daughter Jadi (almost 18). When I was pregnant with Kye, Jadi really was not that into the whole idea of a new baby in the family, she couldn’t figure out what everyone was fussing over, When Kye was Born the family arrived 3 or 4 hours after his birth to come and meet the newest member of our family, they all had a cuddle then it came to Jadi’s turn, she took her little brother into her arms and was so amazed, she looked at me and said: “I didn’t realize he was going to be this cute”……. My response was “I only have cute kids”
Jadi stayed with me for the first night in the hospital and helped me with little baby Kye, she was so helpful and thoughtful, today nearly 18 months later their bond is stronger than ever, Kye hears his sister’s voice in the house and runs to her, if her door is shut he will bang and bang on the door until she opens it, he goes straight over to her and see promptly lifts him onto the bed and they snuggle up under Jadi’s Zebra Print Mink Blanket, it warms my heart to see the amazing bond they have formed and how protective Jadi is of her little brother, there is 16 years difference between them but I know that Jadi will always be there for her brother.
I love to watch all the kids with Kye, his big brother Alex who is 19 comes over to visit at least once a week and spends most of his time on the floor playing with his brother and teaching him to do cheeky things, then there’s Chloe who has just turned 11, she plays games everyday with Kye and just loves to see him when she gets home from School each day, they have all formed a strong bond with Little Kye and I’m so happy and glad for that, but I’m not surprised at all!!!
I know I am blessed to have a such amazing children, who will be there for Kye throughout his life and journey with DMD, all my kids were very close with their Uncle Pugs (my brother Paul who had DMD), they helped him however they could and trust me Pugs taught them plenty of naughty things too…lol .
We have a wonderful amazing family, my sister and My Nephew visited at the weekend and my 20 year old nephew Josh rarely gets to see Kye (or Bill as he calls him), it was so good to watch him with Kye he was so amazed by him and played with him, Kye loved it he was laughing and smiling at his cousin who can be a clown at times! Josh asked if he could “borrow bill” for a few days, I said yes no worries but at 3am when he won’t sleep you’ll probably want to give him back. I just love My family and I have passed the value onto my children as it was passed to me from my parents and the generations before!!! I just feel so blessed and with all this love around Kye he will have the most amazing life ever!!!
