I just love getting up each morning and checking my Facebook page……sounds crazy but I have so, so many friends now from all over the world in different times zones with are traveling the DMD journey, Many send messages while I’m asleep because it’s daylight for them so I can’t wait to get up and see what everyone has been up to. Everyday I see pictures of the awesome kids who have DMD and they melt my heart, they have the most beautiful smiles, hard to imagine someone suffering from a terminal Illness smiling but these kids are absolute heroes. I want to say thank you to my DMD family for all your constant love and support we are all here for one another and it makes the journey that much better sharing it with others who know exactly what you are going through who can encourage you when your feeling down, give you advise when you face new aspects of the disease, share a joke and make you smile, be there when you are facing grief, it’s just awesome to have this support!!! Each day is new and every day full of new experiences and challenges meeting these challenges head on together makes the load seem that little bit lighter, everyday is also a new day in research a step closer to finding a cure I have faith it will come and I hope and pray it’s sooner rather than later, I watch my boy Kye grow every day and notice changes in his ability to do the things other children do easily, I watch him try to jump, he tries so hard and looks so cute, I smile but feel sad at the same time, I would give anything for him to be able to just jump without trying so hard, to run without falling down, to climb and keep up with our other friends & families children, I never let this side of my mind show to my boy, I just am grateful to have such an amazing young boy in my life I know he will meet all the challenges life throws at him and never give up he is only 27 months old but I can see already that he is a very strong willed boy who will never stop trying we will always encourage our boy to strive for his dreams and that no dream is too big to live his life to the best of his ability, and that is made easier with the encouragement of the DMD community, The achievements of other children and Men who are dealing with DMD daily seeing your determination and courage inspires us parents and gives us hope for our children. Keep sharing your stories, keep inspiring and keep supporting one another, together we can help one another cope and keep going when DMD drags us down, together we can fight for that Cure, fight for all who endure DMD endure it with courage and determination, never ever give up hope even when things are tough. I love you all my DMD family and thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing and unconditional love and support xx
